STIP projects on the islands of Oahu and Maui are programmed through the Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization (Oahu MPO) and Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization (Maui MPO) Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) processes.  Once the Oahu and Maui TIPs are approved, they are added to the STIP without change. Forum: Kauai STIP

Comments or questions on the programming/implementation of transportation projects eligible for federal funding on Kauai can be left here through Monday, June 28, 2021.

The Maui MPO is responsible for programming federal aid projects on the island of Maui. HDOT is responsible for the islands of Molokai and Lanai. Information on the Transportation Improvement Program for the island of Maui can be found at https://mauimpo.org/transportation-improvement-program-tip The majority of state highway work on Molokai and Lanai are fully state funded, however, HDOT is proposing to program federal aided shoreline mitigation and protection on the island of Molokai in the timeframe of the new FFY 2022-2025 (+2) STIP. These shoreline improvements/needs were identified and prioritized through the Statewide Highway Shoreline Management Program. Improvements proposed for Kamehameha V Road from Niaupala Fishpond to Honoulimaloo Bridge are the #2 shoreline priority for the Maui District. There are no other federally aided projects planned for Molokai or Lanai.
